What is Whiplash?

Whiplash-associated disorders result from the sudden and unexpected movement of the head forward and backwards. The most common causes of whiplash are car and truck accidents.

WHAT ARE THE TYPICAL SYMPTOMS OF WHIPLASH?
• Neck pain/stiffness.
• Headaches.
• Tingling/numbness in arms/shoulders.
• Poor concentration.
• Memory problems.

Persons having been involved in a rear-end accident may experience some or all of these symptoms.

HOW LONG WILL THE SYMPTOMS LAST?
Most people who have whiplash disorders recover in a few months or so. However, approximately 1 out of 4 people with whiplash report symptoms for much longer.
